The Monarchs are petering out. On Sep.15 perhaps 80% of them came through very high, riding the thermals with the hawks--but the number was perhaps 20/hr.; very few were noted coming through low.

Very many visitors and photographers and CMRW (Cranberry Marsh Raptor Watch)observers were treated to
mild weather, fall-flowering vascular plants, dragonflies, few
Monarchs, many female and young R-t hummingbirds.

Monarchs--125/min. Monarchs kicked into gear during the afternoon with perhaps hundreds in view at once during the mid afternoon portion of the day.
