I spent some time watching the hummingbirds this morning. There were at least two which I think were juveniles that took turns feeding. There is at least one adult male who chases the other birds away when they try to feed. He was apparently somewhere else this morning. I did see him this afternoon. I think the other birds check out the feeder from time to time to see whether he is around. I've also seen hummingbirds getting nectar from my red salvia a couple of times this week. I've also been looking for monarchs but have seen maybe one since the rain we got over the weekend.
