During migration (spring and fall) some birds stray.
This bird should be in Florida and southern Alabama and Mississippi!
Blown out of range by hurricane or storm?
This afternoon, Sept. 11 at 2:30 p.m. I had a Swallow-tailed Kite approx. 5 km. Northeast of Holiday Beach crossing Walker Road in a South-westerly direction, towards Holiday Beach. The bird was making slow headway against the wind and was fairly low.
