Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 09/16/2007

Number: 1

Two more Monarchs hatched out and were released early this week. On Thursday the Preschoolers cheered, "More caterpillars!" when I brought in two more. One is nearing time to form it's chrysallis. The second they fondly call "a baby" only perhaps a half inch long. Both feeding on Milkweed vine. Have two eggs on Milkweed plant in the same container. The large caterpillar changed over from the vine to eat two to three leaves on the plant. It left the two leaves with the eggs alone and has switched back to the vine again.
