Monarch PEAK Migration

Found our visitors hanging on our two willow trees between the barn and the house. This is a sheltered location from the wind. Rain was forecast for later in the evening and I guess they were looking for a safe place to spend the night. There were quite a few thousand of them. It was fun watching them jockey around and exchanging positions. Getting ready for the evening, I guess. It didn't rain much at night, but there was a cloudburst around dawn. I went out after the rain stopped but they left without even eating breakfast. I'm glad I was able to see them this year, as I've missed them since I last saw them in Cape May about 15 years ago. A marvelous sight!
