Sept. 13
Monarchs moved in very large numbers today, starting early but tapering off
somewhat in the afternoon.
Sept. 11
This was probably one of the busiest days so far this fall for Monarch movement with heavy migration observed during the afternoon once the sun made its appearance.
Sept. 8
Monarchs were without a doubt the most numerous migrant seen today, Moving steady throughout the day and many at altitude.
Sept. 4
Monarchs continued to move in numbers and outnumbered every other migrant except perhaps Purple Martins during the early part of the day. I suspect some number roosted in the park overnight as there seemed to be a modest lift off of them during my early morning wanderings on the Cherry Island trail.
