Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 09/15/2007

Number: 1

I'm amazed. Despite temps in the 40's a night or two, I found five Monarch eggs on sand vine yesterday (9/15) along (above) a drainage ditch. Had there been more sand vine, the numbers might have been greater. (Mowing 3 weeks ago produced some fresh growth.) There were 5 or 6 new growth common milkweed plants - no eggs. Saturday was a spectacularly beautiful day - sunny skies.
