All day yesterday (9/15) and then again today (9/16), large numbers of monarchs came into town. Found several roosts yesterday; one in my rear garden in the city of Cape May, the rest were at Cape May Point. This evening (9/16), I counted 15 large roosts (I am really bad at estimating), but the numbers were BIG. Very exciting; might even surpass last year, which was really impressive!
For daily migration counts from Cape May see the Cape May Monitoring Project.
Editor's Note: This observer did not specify the number of monarchs present, although the roost appears to have been very large.
