Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 09/02/2007

Number: 1

My wife was in Cleveland visiting at Cleveland Metropolitan Hospital, on the 9th floor. That's high up! She noticed Monarchs migrating south through Cleveland at her level and above the 9th floor. In an hour's time, she saw a dozen Monarchs glide by the 9th floor window. Could this be the migrants that the Toronto observers saw??? There's not much on the move yet here in Fremont, about 80 miles West of Cleveland. I'm waiting! I guess Monarchs migrate fairly high in the air. The whole environ around Cleveland Metro Hospital is parking lots and cement, with heave traffic. The height of their migration probably saves many.
