Spotted approximately 100 butterflies at 7:30 pm within city of Syracuse. They flew in singly or in pairs and appeared to be choosing a place to land. They settled over three city lots, in both evergreens and deciduous trees. The process took approximately 30 minutes. The next morning's temperatures remained in the high 50's to low 60's. Watched carefully from 7:30 am to 11:45 am. First departure was after 8 am. Observed only 5 other departures prior to 11:30 am.
