We had a lot of monarchs roosting in a couple of maple trees in our yard on this evening. We estimate that there may have been about 200 of them, maybe more! I counted about 50 in the largest cluster and there were a number of smaller clusters. We have never had this many in one evening. It was wonderful!! This is earlier than when we usually have roosting monarchs. I would estimate about a week and a half early.
