Today, the fourth graders released their first monarch butterfly. This butterfly was taken from a friend's garden as a small caterpillar and raised by the students. We tagged the butterfly when she was ready to go, and we reluctantly let her go free. It was a beautiful sight as she flew off into the sky. We waved good-bye.
