Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 09/23/2007

Number: 1

We were very lucky this year when we started school on August 27th of 2007.
Two years ago, the third graders and parents built a Butterfly garden. We planted milkweeds and this year we found 7 Monarch caterpillars on these plants.
On the last days as caterpillar we took them inside the classroom to watch them. The students were very excited when they witness how the caterpillar made the cocoon and became a crisalis and then a butterfly. We sent them to Mexico!
