Our Kindergarten class released four Monarch butterflies today at our elementary school site. We observed an fifth Monarch butterfly near the school. Our project included reading several books, looking at a video and lots of pictoral resources, setting up a glass tank with fresh milkweed and observing the caterpillars eat, molt, make a "j", form the chrysalises, turn from a green color to black and hatch into glorious Monarch butterflies. It is an amazing experience for these young students and also for the adults involved!
