Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 09/24/2007

Number: 1

Had some late emerging Monarchs here on Sunday and Monday. On the 23rd I had a male feeding on goldenrod. Monday morning we had a female near the house that had probably emerged on Sunday also. It was mostly testing its wings and soaking up sun. Saw at least one other, perhaps two different sightings that morning. A cold front moved through late in the day, and the wind shifted to the west and northwest on Tuesday. Hopefully all are on their way to Mexico. Hadn't seen any butterflies here for nearly two weeks, so they have a lot of catching up to do. Hope they make it....
