Yesterday (9/25) and today thousands of monarchs were streaming over the Refuge (Flint Hills and Marais des Cygnes NWR)!!!
At times, I could look anywhere with my binoculars, horizon to horizon, and see a half dozen in the field of view!!!!
Along with the monarchs were hundreds of pelicans, and scores of raptors.
A huge migration day for all species.
In the weeks leading up to migration, the monarchs used our wetlands heavily, particularly the Bidens.
