Yesterday morning (9/27), I was at Great Salt Plains, walking down the Eagle Roost Trail to the observation tower that overlooks Sand Creek Bay. It was shortly before 8 A.M., humid and still. There were several hundred Monarchs clinging to the branches of a tree approximately half way to the tower. I took the other fork of the trail back an hour later, so I don't know if they were still there. During two days of birding there, I was really impressed with the numbers of Monarchs, especially in the Sand Creek Bay area. I hope this may help...George-Tulsa
