Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 09/28/2007

Number: 1

I saw one monarch today. This is late in the year as we usually start to see a few as early as the first week of August. There are two wild plants that along with the milkweed plants that usually show a sudden burst of growth right before the butterflies start to arrive. The milk weed plants are demonstrating their sudden growth and almost all of them in my garden as well as the one in the garden at the school I work in are flowering. Only one of the other plants is demonstrating its growth (wild tobacco).
