Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 09/30/2007

Number: 1

To my amazement at around 4 this afternoon, I noticed a Monarch in my neighbor's Mexican sunflower. I grabbed my net and went over and noticed there were two Monarchs. I captured one male and tagged it. I went back hoping to capture the other one and found there were still two Monarchs. I captured another male and tagged it. I went back again and there still were two Monarchs which decided they were not having anything to do with my net.

So, there are Monarchs still going through SE Wisconsin. We have been having a brisk SW wind all day. This evening there is a storm front coming out of the SW. So, the Monarchs might be here awhile.
