Symbolic Monarchs (Sent)

Date: 10/04/2007

Number: 1

We've sent 16 "symbolic" monarch butterflies on their journey south. Our class raised and released more than 30 monarch butterflies this fall. Many of them were from eggs our teacher found. We were so excited to watch them grow and change. We took very good care of them. We are hopeful that our real monarchs will journey safely south to Mexico. We miss them, and we hope they'll return in the Spring.
We will look forward to the northern migration of the symbolic monarchs later in the school year.
Mariposa, adios! Journey well to Mexico.
