I was working in the school butterfly garden along side the monarch who was getting nectar from our orange Mexican sunflowers. The monarch stayed on each flower for a minute or so and was in the area for 20 minutes or longer. It didn't seem to be bothered by my presence. It was a sunny, mildly warm day with an occasional breeze.
