Addition to the northern sighting observations:
I spotted one butterfly just north of New Richmond, WI yesterday just before noon. It was flying west straight into a west wind.
Hadn't seen any since a Sunday (Sept 30) sighting on our "butterfly hill" near Horse Creek (Osceola).
I'm glad for every last one I see, but maybe this is truly my last of the year.
