I went out by boat to Lovells Island in Boston Harbor last Sunday (9/30) and saw hundreds of Monarchs sipping on Seaside Goldenrod. They were simply everywhere. As long as I was downwind, I could approach the butterflies quite close. I went out on Thursday (10/4) with a High School Marine Biology Class (Newton North High School)and there were still quite a few butterflies still there. I will be including pictures taken recently to finish up a powerpoint classroom presentation that I will be presenting this school year in the Boston area to spread the word about the Monarchs and Journey South/North. I went to the El Rosario Refuge last November and now we have closed the circle. We (National Park Service) are hoping to be involved in a Monarch tagging project next Fall. Keep up the good work.
