Hello from the great state of Texas to the children of Mexico. I taught my 65 second graders, which are 7 and 8 years old, the parts of the butterfly. We made the life cycle of the Monarch butterfly using pasta. We also read several stories and made lots of pictures. At the culmination of my unit, every student received a package of milkweed seeds to create a backyard habitat in time for the Monarch butterfly spring migration. We are excited to see monarch butterflies in our area today.
