Monarch Fall Roost

Date: 10/12/2007

Number: 200

the past 24hrs the area has been hit by heavy rain and high winds. This morning the wind has gusted 25-30mph WNW. I noticed about two hundred or more Monarchs on the leeside of a dense holly bush bebeath the Verazzano Bridge. They appeared to be waiting for the wind to lessen and were bunched tightly together. I was able to take some very close photos with out disturbing them.
