Ten to twenty percent of local maple leaves have turned a dusky red. The unseasonably warm weather and rain have brought out a burst of flower bloom: Verbena, Lantana, roses, etc. The "daisy" mums have prolific buds and are close to bloom time. My butterfly plants are beginning to rebloom - there are no monarch caterpillars feeding on them now. I collected seeds from the first pods to ripen. Will gather more if they make it a second time before the frost. Very cold, rainy and windy the past two days.
