Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 10/13/2007

Number: 1

Drove down to Cape May from Jackson, NJ this morning. Saw many monarchs moving South and many more seemed to be moving SW.

In Cape may, the monarchs were abundant; counted 48 in 10 mintues landing in my rear garden.

Checked out the roosts at sunset; I found several fairly large roosts throughout the point. I'm not good on number estimates but would say 200-300 at several sites and many smaller clusters widely dispersed.
