Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/21/2007

Number: 1

Around the week of September 10, the hummers were very active, but by the end of the week it was down to just two. My last two hummers appeared to be a hen and a chick. They barely left the feeder on September 16, 17 and Tuesday the 18th. I had to fill it twice, they fed so heavily. On Wednesday, the feeder hung unbothered. Over at the Franciscan Life Process Center, my easel was by a west window looking out on the sisters flower garden. I had noticed them around squeaking because I had the windows open on the days I worked there. But that Thursday, September 20, the butterfly bush and zinnias literally buzzed with a large group of hummers. Friday, (9/21) not a hummingbird was seen or heard.
