Signs of Fall

Date: 10/01/2007

Number: 1

Our school is at 4600' elevation, and surrounding mountains approach 10,000'. Being a native of Illinois, I always felt that Utah meant hot, desert sands. In fact, the mountains here can be covered with forests, and our water was rated as the best drinking quality in the nation. The Quaking Aspens have all turned a brilliant yellow, and the Canyon Maples range from peach to scarlet in color. They create a dramatic contrast to the deep greens of the Douglas Fir and Limber Pines, as well as the snow-capped peaks. There are calendar photos in 360 degree vistas. Here comes winter.
