While on vacation in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, I saw hundreds of butterflies on the golf course, floating in a southerly direction. I assumed they were monarchs. However, they seemed smaller and slightly different in color (deeper orange). Is there a different variety of Monarch in the Eastern Flyway?
