Monarch Fall Roost

Date: 10/20/2007

Number: 100

We have 75 - 100 monarchs in the dry creek bed behind our house waiting for the gusty south winds to subside. It was been 90 degrees and very sunny for the last two days and the butterflies have roosted in the trees lining the creek waiting for better conditions. The cold weather is coming sometime tonight: forecast for tomorrow is chilly, rainy, with 48 degrees forecast tomorrow night. This is the second year in a row we have had these beautiful creatures stay with us before pressing on.
