Practice Report (Any Species)

Date: 10/19/2007

Number: 1

Because the butterflies were in flight, I was only able to positively identify one monarch. Do other butterflies, like the viceroy, migrate with monarchs? Only one monarch was close enough for me to positively identify with the naked eye. However, I plan to set a time for my students to observe and count butterflies. Since I became aware of the migration with the help of your site, I will also plan to involve my students earlier next year. We use the A Beka curriculum and the monarch is one of the butterflies we study. I plan to extend and enrich our study of them this year and next. Thank you for your site!
