Time: Mid thur late Afternoon, 10/19/07, Denton County Weather: Clear skies, 75 degrees Front passed thru area earlier this week DENTON County RATES: Aubrey, TX--> Observed 1 monarch every 25 seconds Denton, TX--> Observed 1 monarch every 7 seconds Calhoun Middle School, Denton, TX--> 3:30-4:30 PM Observed 50+ Monarchs (as well as Queens) nectaring and migrating thru schoolyard habitat All afternoon in Denton and Denton County, monarchs were everywhere...not only nectaring low of flowers, and flying at eye level, but they also filled the higher altitudes in the sky Today (Friday) may be the peak in the migration for N TX, but maybe #s will inc thru the weekend! JN
