This past Saturday (10/13) and Tuesday (10/16) we had a record day for Monarchs. In a little over 2 hours, volunteers tagged 44 Monarchs on Saturday. Tuesday was even more spectacular, with 86 Monarchs tagged! That brings this year’s total number of Monarchs tagged in Cades Cove to 184. In addition, we have captured and identified over 20 other different species of butterflies, including the Dainty Sulphur, a new park record.
