Nick's dad Mr. Szuszkowski who teaches 5th Grade in Randolph New Jersey visited our 3rd grade classroom in September and taught us all about Monarchs. He showed us how they hatch from eggs, how the caterpillars eat milkweed and showed us how to feed and tag adult Monarchs. He told us all about how the Monarchs migrate to Mexico and showed us pictures from his 2 trips to the Monarch Sanctuaries in Mexico. We tagged and released 19 Monarchs with Mr. Szuszkowski and Mrs. Coffey. We also created and sent Symbolic Monarchs to Mexico. Please take care of our Monarchs. We can't wait until they return in the spring!
