Monarchs were seen flying and hanging from tops of pine trees facing the western setting sun around 5:30-6:00pm. I saw several dozen.
I really saw several dozen hanging down at outer tips and I'm sure there were many I couldn't see. The next morning there were lots more throughout the pastured area which is overgrown with wildflowers and grasses. They were basking in the sun and nectaring on any blooming plant. I took lots of pictures, but nothing really can show all the monarchs. Everywhere I walked some would fly up in front of me and light a small distance away. It was lovely!
