The monarchs were very slow in getting to Del Rio this year and, when they did start flying overhead, the numbers observed were much lower than last year. The total number observed on our peak migration day (as observed by 6 classes of 7th graders)was roughly equal to the amount we saw during one class period on our peak migration day last year.
