Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 10/23/2007

Number: 1

What an incredible day!

The increase was most noticeable starting last night (Tuesday 10-23).
The school where I was teaching Tuesday didn't have a single monarch pass by all day long.

At 4:00pm however, I stopped by the Home Depot which is 5 miles further west.
I counted 15 Monarchs on a display of Salvia outside the store and another 10-20 flying from flower to flower inside Home Depot's garden center. Getting in my car twenty minutes later I sat in the parking lot and counted groups of 2-5 monarchs flying overhead every 2-3 minutes.
