Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 10/26/2007

Number: 1

The monarchs were all moving to the south. It was clear to see they were all flying in the same direction. The time spent observing was about 2 hours and I would say we probably observed about 4,000 butterflies. There was always a continuous flow the entire time. We observed from about 10:20am to 12:30pm. There was not much wind on that day and not recent storms. It was clear, cool in the morning low 40's but quickly warmed up into the high 70's. There were two people observing.
