Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 10/29/2007

Number: 1

At 11 am this morning monarchs were sighted in the city of Queretaro, Queretaro by Raúl Zubieta! This is less than 70 miles from the center of the monarch overwintering region. We have alerted Estela Romero and others in the town of Angangueo, Michoacan where they are waiting for the monarchs arrival. Raúl Zubieta is a student of Drs. Isabel Ramirz and Lincoln Brower. He is surveying the monarch migration route across northern Mexico this fall.

[Note: While this is not a "PEAK" migration sighting we are posted it temporarily on this map because it is such an important highlight.]
