Fourth graders at our school always plant our bulbs the week after Halloween. Today's planting weather was cold, windy, and wet. The air temperature was 42 degrees F with a real feel temp of 35 degrees. The ground temperature was about 42 degrees F. Winds were blowing at about 13 miles per hour with gusts up to 17 mph. There was a light drizzle. Colder than normal weather is forcast for the next few days. We hope that the soil will stay warm enough for our bulbs to root before the ground freezes.
