In our tulip garden we used 16 squares & there were 4 tulip bulbs per square.To make the squares even we put 2 pieces of wood on the ends of string down the middle nice & tight.Then we did the same thing only with smaller strings & put 8 of those down. On that day we used 64 bulbs in all.The bulbs were planted in the cold so they would stay dormant.The holes for the bulbs had to be 6'' deep.Also we had to move off the old soil, put down some new soil & move the old soil back on so the tulips could grow stronger.We had a great time & can't wait for spring.
