Tulips PLANTED

Date: 11/13/2007

Number: 1

This is the grade 6's second planting, as a family of rabbits feasted on our first initiatives! We had to rethink our strategy. In the end we decided to try putting human hair all over the earth (and somewhat buried underneath) where we planted the tulip bulbs. We had heard that human hair would detract any animal from going in that patch. We raided a beauty salon and got a box full for our two triangular raised beds. It rained the night after we planted the bulbs, settling the hair well in the ground, and now its all covered with snow. We also planted Yellow Emperor tulips in the three corners of the raised beds to see if they would emerge at the same time as the red variety.
