Several things to note: Had our first snow last weekend and our second latest first freeze (17 degrees). It still hasn't been damp enough to scrape ice off the car in the morning. A gang of black capped chickadees has moved into our yard. Saw some sandhill cranes near the river last weekend - they have likely been here since late October. Winter has finally settled in in central New Mexico.
