The Virginia Living Museum's Early Birds Class of pre-K students planted their Red Emperor tulips in the museum's Children's Learning Garden today. The tulips were planted in the same bed that previous tulips have shared, but a small Magnolia tree that had shared the bed with them was removed this spring to give the bed more light. We'll see what affect that has on the emergence and bloom times. The Garden began with Journey North tulips planted in fall 1998.
