Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 11/03/2007

Number: 1

30 monarch caterpillars hatched from eggs laid on milkweed plants in our yard. We were able to save 12 of them from natural predators and let them cycle in our classroom. 3 of the adult butterflies failed to survive after emerging from their chrysalis. We released 3 butterflies from our school. 2 butterflies..one male and one female are still enclosed together for a hopeful mating event.
