Hello from Oregon! This is the 4th year that our school has participated with the Journey North tulip program. This week, 6th grade students at our school planted approximately 110 tulips in our school garden.

Seven Oak Middle School is located along the western edge of the Cascade Mountains, in the heart of Oregon's Willamette Valley. Our community has a total population of approximately 15,000 residents. Winters in our community are usually quite wet, cool, and cloudy.

This year, students at our school hope to continue refining the development of a LEGO robotic vehicle developed last year to help us monitor soil temperature in our JN garden. Students will also begin learning to integrate the new Vernier Software and Technology LabQuest, and the new LEGO NXT/Vernier interface adaptor with their LEGO garden robot.
