A flock of robins numbering about 10 individuals is overwintering in a Kingston residential neighbourhood. The birds generally remain in a fairly cohesive group and often are seen flying from one treetop to another.
Another flock of robins with about 25 birds is overwintering in a forested area on the outskirts of the city. They often are seen in the European buckthorn trees feeding on the withered berries that still cling to the branches.
