Saw a majestic pair of Bald Eagles riding the thermals over a mid-river island at Riverbend Park. Eventually they lowered themselves into the trees, with one perching on a snag toward the edge of the isle allowing us a nice view. They do nest here, so they are either just now returning to their breeding grounds, or perhaps they never left...whatever the case may be, it was wonderful to see them!
