Had an unusually-warm day and spent some time out in the back garden cleaning up. Saw several stubby (re: short but still fat) earthworms wriggling away from the light after I'd inadvertently uncovered them from the leaf-litter. Could smell either them or the earth or both, kind of like the way the air smells after a fresh spring rain. Nice!
